Main objectives: to learn how to relate to detail and mastery execute it.

How to start a picture to complete it quickly and efficiently, using the technique of the old masters.
This can be any object portrait, fruit, flowers, metal, glass, etc..
This can be achieved by any technique: in the classical, realistic or impressionistic, or even avant-garde.
The main idea of the master class miniatures came from the fact that the small size of the working surfaces can be well-timed for the three-day workshop.
You will be able to pull all your weaknesses, learn small tricks and learn the basic knowledge of the old masters

• You will be able to try a few different techniques and even finish couple works if you want.
• You will learn how to work with the 0 size brushes, some secret techniques used by Antonov, such as the manufacture of rubber stamps for the texture, the use of “strange” brushes, work with digital gadgets, etc.
• Also during the master class we will talk about one very popular form of today’s commercial activities – “daily paintings”.
You can also bring a one to two work(s) that you need to discuss with the master.
During the master class, we will try to identify and strengthen your strong site and to tighten, or to learn how to deal with the weak one.
Bring your favorite materials, but if you forget to bring something, do not worry, in the studio there is everything you need for your work.
Materials recommended for Master-Class:
1. Several pieces of smooth, gesso-primed Masonite art board. Sizes 6×6 and 8×10 (can be in different colors: white, gray, or black).
2. Some round coring or synthetic brushes, sizes from 0 to 3, additionally to your standard set of brushes
3. Small palette.
4. Containers for the working mixture.
5. If there is – a small table easel

Members are taught how to paint in classical techniques and then how to apply those painting skills into their own artistic expression. This site created mainly because a students kept requesting more painting demonstrations. Right here is some more information about Alexei Antonov.(Biography, Gallery) Hi! My name is Alexei Antonov. I am an artist-educator-creator and owner of websites: 1art.com and artpapa.com. My specialty is based on the study and application of Old Master’s painting technique – painting techniques of the High Renaissance epoch. You may have come to this website by invitation (and you are familiar with my educational activity), or perhaps you were searching the Internet for something related to painting techniques. In any case, if you want to master your skills and techniques or if you are looking for inspiration and motivation from socializing with colleagues, you have come to the right place. I will tell you a little bit about the 1ArtAc ademy website. On this Page I will introduce you to what the 1art academy is all about; so you, ladies and gentlemen, will not spend too much time on learning how to navigate this site.

The Reasons for creating this website

I actually made this site with the thought of a closed artist’s community. I will try to explain why. The fact is in the past I have created forums for artists, in order to share my knowledge and vision on development of contemporary art. This sparked quite a lot of interest and recognition from visitors. But for some reason, over time, my enthusiasm cooled down. There were reasons for that. Well, first appeared the ordinary spammers and people who simply have nothing better to do than hang around online; they had nothing in common with art. They irritated and wasted not only my personal time but mostly the time of other artists who really wanted to study the painting technique. Second, it took so much time from my family and me, so I did not have enough time for my own painting. Right now, it seems to me, that I have finally found an exclusive art club form, where we would not have unwanted gapers, spammers, or uninterested people. Here, we will have only devoted artists who genuinely want to master their art and painting technique. In fact, I have learned in life one important thing. When you pay for an instructor, you apply yourself more seriously and study much harder. If you pay monthly to visit the Gym, you really make those workouts count. When you pay for a house, you will love your home. Your relatively small payments are a symbol of appreciation for my efforts as your teacher and humble servant. It will also act as a stimulus motivating you to study and work well, and me to keep my promise and fulfill my duty to my students, who expressed the gratitude. The most important reason for creating 1Art Academy is to motivate myself to keep pushing my limits as an artist and to share my experience with you! Moreover, I am obligated to be a good master. Otherwise the entire concept and creation of 1Art Academy would be a waste of everyone’s time. I intend to share and explain more of what I do than to teach you. In other words, I want 1art.com to be stimulating, motivational, and challenge us to work hard every day for both myself and for you all as well! The difference between a Demonstrations and Tutorials

Demonstrations

Demonstrations it is a video reports from my art studio. Step by step demonstration of the implementation process of a particularly chosen work of art. There a lot of hours of video, a little number of cuts and editorial comments are minimum. All videos are shot in HD format (high definition)

Tutorials

Tutorials are made in the classic format of the training DVD. Very rich information. If you are interested in is the classical school of painting – this is what you really need. All filmed in the standard video format, with the exception of a portrait of Ksenia shot in high definition

I have decided to shoot the video all of the work on the paintings from my studio and make it available online for Art Academy members. I have divided them into 15 to 35 minute parts for your viewing convenience and affordable pricing. The same thing I did with the video tutorials, divided into clips and made available in masterclasses. By purchasing the video tutorials in portions, you will be able to experience the value of the material and decide if and when you would like to continue with the workshop on your own terms. Moreover, in order to simplify, I have created a full trailer collection for you about each part of the video workshops. It is important to say that if you purchase one clip or a block of clips, you will have unlimited access to them for the specified time period. When I was creating these video workshops, I tried to share all of my knowledge about Old Masters’ techniques with you. Constructive Video Critiquing of your painting for just $290 (Each member will have a chance to be in the next video. Nevertheless, member may request their own video critique For the members of the Master Class, only $190). This also includes a one-month Master Class subscription. After your purchase, you will be redirected to a special form for your comments and questions (should you have any), and instructions for uploading your images. The critique can be of your completed work (or works) or even work-in-process (one or several stages). Professional experience indicates that this kind of critique is very helpful in bringing your future art projects to the next level of expertise and proficiency. The most effective method of critiquing is to have video recommendations on the very beginning or early stages of your working process. Firstly, get a critique on arranging a composition by drafting or sketching, or start from a photograph of your still life or person. A properly constructed composition is half the battle! After you receive the critique, continue your work, and after completing that particular stage, progressively request the next video critique until you complete your paintings. How does it work?

You submit the image of your painting-in-progress or of your finished artwork along with your questions (should you have any). Then I will review it in Photoshop, videotape my digital corrections along with my remarks and comments and post it back. I think digital corrections are a much better format than corrections on the canvas itself. Here is why: Sometimes the artist has mixed feelings about the teacher correcting right on the canvas. On the one hand, he is happy to watch and learn from the teacher, but on the other hand he feels like he’s losing ownership of his work. So in our case, with the video criticism method, your painting will always be safe from the teacher’s brush.

This is the most innovative, valuable, and exclusive service I offer. For those of you who would like personal consultation, analysis, or advice, I strongly suggest Skype Video Conference. I will give my utmost attention and care to bringing you my best possible technique demonstrations, wherever in the world you may be. Skype Video Conferences are real time sessions and demos via web camera. These are personalized sessions where I will be demonstrating the process of painting techniques you are specifically interested in, explaining all aspects and answering your questions live. You will also periodically be able to use the capture button (one of the Skype components) in order to keep portions of my demonstration, so you can view it later on. You Will Need: A computer, Internet connection with minimal DSL speed or higher, a web camera, and video capable version of the Skype application. If you do not need to show me real time video, you do not even need to have a web camera. If you feel that you need my personal help, you may schedule a time for a private session. Instructions on how to schedule a time for our conference will be made available after your payment is submitted.
