Regarding 7 weeks drying time -yes, it is correct. Sometimes we can speed it up a little.  But Old Masters were not in a hurry to create and breathtaking pieces of art which we are still get a chance to admire because they are in a better condition than later done paintings.

Rembrandt was sold to another Japanese company and they stopped producing it. Try in Winsor and Newton.

Try Cadmium, but neutral, not with cold neither with warm hues, something neutral.

Sign of a canvas primed correctly: it should have a feeling of an egg shell, feeling of some natural, not plastic. To achieve smooth surface: apply by palette knife or confection knife and then sand it with small grade sand paper or scrape with the razor blade with rounded corners.

You need to let it dry, then wipe it with onion cut in half (with the fresh cut surface) and then wipe it with linseed oil.

You can buy any acrylic varnish and dilute it with distilled water (since it produces less bubbles).

Basic set: Flake White Yellow ochre Prussian Blue Burnt Umbra Ivory Black

Sometimes I add Red Ochre to my basic set of pigments (1st list), but you still can do that without it by adding more Burnt Umbra.

Flake White Cadmium Yellow medium Yellow Ochre Chinese Vermilion Extra Flash Ochre Burnt Umbra Our grays, Ivory Black Permanent Madder Deep Prussian Blue

It is not critical, you can substitute it with any kind of Red Ochre.

Transparent Red Oxide was produced by Rembrandt company, it cannot be substituted by any other color. Permanent Madder Deep could be substituted by Alizarin Crimpson.

Extra Fine Indian Yellow — Any Transparent Yellow Red Ochre — English Red or Indian Red (earth red pigment) Light Ochre — Any Yellow Ochre Permanetn Madder Deep — Alizarin Crimpson, Kraplak, ( Any Dark transparent Burgundy) Chinese Vermillion — Cadmium Red (medium or dark)

Damar Varnish Glossy Finish.

The basic set of paints is the following oil colors: Flake White, Yellow Ochre Light, Red Ochre, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber Ivory and Lamp Black , Prussian blue, and some extra colors (when necessary) which I use in the last layers: Lead Yellow (instead of it also can be used Cadmium Yellow Deep, In this case, instead of using Lead White, use Titanium), Madder Lake Deep (or Alizarin Crimson), Chinese Vermilion (or Cadmium Red). But be careful, use these last additional colors very sparingly.
